Liabent M –non-activated bentonite powder
It is a bentonite binder used in foundries for preparing mixtures of formation and is obtained through a series of physical processes on mineral bentonite. Active mineral, montmorillonite has excellent capacity of swelling in the presence of water, feature which gives superior bonding properties depending on the coverage of grain sand surface with a layer of bentonite. Compressive strength wet of formation mixtures is at least 40 dN / cm2.
Liabent A - activated bentonite
It is an improved version of bentonite binders, which besides the previous excellent properties, provides the qualities of an aluminosilicate doped with ions of Na. It is characterized by increased swelling degree and the fineness of grinding in an increased way. It is used especially in casting gray iron, nodular cast iron or by the carbon steel high or simple alloy.
Liabent C – activated bentonite carbon
It is used successfully in foundries in situations where rapid release of gas is essential. At the contact of the liquid metal with the form of casting, due to the high temperature, the coal is being oxidized, passing into carbon dioxide, which abandons the form of casting, leaving behind a microstructure which favors the gas removal without affecting the resistance of the shape.

It differs from the assortment precedent that it is not just a simple loosening of the structure of the casting form, but also the formation of so-called layer of carbon glossy which actually consists in a thin film of finely divided carbon deposited on the surface in the interior of the casting form in the contact with the glowing liquid metal. Coal glossy eliminate much of the roughness of sand-bentonite mixture thus determining the smoothing of the surface of the pieces which were cast. In this way you can achieve such pieces casted with a high quality.
